Syrena Voyager ("we", "our", "the app") is an invite-only travel recommendation app. We take your privacy seriously and collect only the minimum data needed to provide our service.
Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. This is used to identify you within the app and to your friends.
Location Data: With your permission, we access your device location to show nearby places on the map. Location data is used only within the app and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
User Content: Places you add, photos you upload, lists you create, and messages you send are stored in our database to provide the app's core functionality.
Photos: With your permission, we access your photo library so you can upload profile pictures and place photos. Photos are stored securely using Firebase Storage.
We use your information solely to:
- Display your profile to friends and other members
- Show your place recommendations to the community
- Enable messaging between friends
- Show nearby places on the map
- Send push notifications about friend requests and messages
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage), hosted in the United States. We use Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in.
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, and file storage
- Google Places API — To search for and display place information
- Google Maps — To display maps within the app
- Expo — App development and push notification delivery
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with other app members as part of the app's social features (e.g., your profile, places you've added, your lists).
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
Syrena Voyager is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for location access at any time via device settings
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
